Fees
Due to the differing nature of legal matters, the basis for fees may vary. Generally, billing for most cases will be determined by the amount of time required. Other factors (i.e., complexity of case, special expertise required, etc.), however, may also be considered in arriving at a final statement. Certain matters may be billed on a flat fee basis, while others, such as personal injury cases, may be handled on a contingency basis, with the fee being a percentage of the recovery obtained. Charges for certain real estate and business transactions are sometimes established through the monetary amounts involved in the transaction or according to the complexity of the transactions.
A retainer fee or advance payment may be necessary, when a case is accepted. Similarly, some cases require the advance payment of certain costs, such as filing fees. Clients are encouraged to ask any questions they may have about the fee to be charged for their representation.
We welcome the opportunity to discuss how our firm may be of service to you.
